Les Pobjie is a retired newspaperman, who began as a press photographer and eventually enjoyed decades as editor of community newspapers in Sydney, winning best paper in Australia a few times. In a long career in metropolitan, provincial and community newspapers Les has worked as  photographer, reporter, sub-editor and editor.

In the peace and quiet of his home, he turned to writing disturbing fiction. He has two published books of scary short stories: Murmurs in the Night and More Murmurs in the Night (Mirador Press).

Now, in a change of pace, he has just published a novel, Local Rag Hero. It is a mix of humour and crime, with liberal doses of absurdity.
